Teacher Perception of Student Reading Competence and Its Relationship to Teaching Practice: A Comparison between Pre and during Pandemic Teaching in INDONESIA

During the pandemic, learning methods were changed to distance or hybrid ensure both physical distancing as well educational continuity. This study examines teacher perceptions of student reading competence prior and during pandemic in Indonesia. A total 59 language teachers asked about their teaching practices, such disciplinary climate, support, teacher-directed instruction, feedback, stimulation reading, instruction adaptation. Results revealed that Indonesian believed more students would have better gains if face-to-face implemented compared pandemic. In addition, perception was affected by different aspects. Prior climate support. Meanwhile, negatively instruction.
